At the beginning, the question was: How else can we help young people improve their personal and professional lives? They have many opportunities to grow, however they often do not know how to find employment. The answer is: We will give them a tool to learn about these opportunities through non-formal education.
That is why the project “Opportunity Map: A Guide to Information for Youth” brought together two umbrella organizations operating in the field of information and counseling services in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The Association of Youth Information and Counseling Centers in the Slovak Republic (ZIPCeM) and the Association for the Support of Youth Information Centers in the Czech Republic bring the Ready for life portal. Young people, and in fact everyone who wants to learn informally and experientially, will find clear and verified information here in one place. As a bonus, we offer two countries: Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

The main goal of the activities of the AICM CR is to support the systemic development of Information Centers for Youth in the Czech Republic and to support and assist in the establishment of new Information Centers for Youth in the Czech Republic - providing initial information and subsequent assistance in further procedures. Publication of publications in cooperation with ZIPCEM on important topics such as bullying and cyberbullying, sexuality of boys and girls, drug addiction, but also how to write a resume and cover letter correctly.
ZIPCeM is the umbrella organization and representative of the Youth Information Centers and other member organizations dedicated to the provision of information and counseling services for young people. It was established in 1992, precisely on the basis of the need to methodically and organizationally support the developing ICM network in Slovakia. Today, this means that when providing information and counseling services for young people, we use a common logo and name, we follow the Unified Classification of Information, we have a common database system that allows clear records of clients and information and advice, we have a rich publishing and project activities, cooperation with domestic and foreign partners under the ICM brand and many others. At the same time, each ICM is a separate organization that carries out activities based on the needs of young people specific to its region.
In order to improve the position of young people and the work with young people , we have to look for causes and then solutions. These can only be found directly at the main actors. So, without asking young people and listening to what they really want and need, we will not move anywhere. Therefore, ZIPCeM also embarked on the path of experiential learning and at the same time support of youth policy. We want to be a part of a positive change that will mean more confidence in young people, their views and to ensure that they do not leave their country, but return to live there, raise their children in it and make it a better place to live. We consider the One Rope project and the Info mobil project to be our most important projects.
The One Rope project focuses on "Supporting the dialogue between youth and politicians - structured dialogue". The aim of the project is to increase young people's interest in actively participating in the formulation of local, regional and European youth policies and to strengthen the voice of young people in these processes. At the same time, the aim is to create a functioning system of regular dialogue between stakeholders with a view to jointly developing "tailor-made" measures according to the needs of young people. More information about this project can be found on the website www.zajednolano.sk.
The Association of Youth Information and Counseling Centers in the Slovak Republic has prepared a unique Infomobil project for young people with the support of the European YOUTH program and the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic. Infomobil was a unique project of its kind in Slovakia. The aim was to get information to young people, especially those with a lack of opportunities. For this purpose, a bus was purchased, which with trained staff, quality counseling materials and internet connection visited cities and regions with a smaller population, thus improving the information and counseling service for young people. The bus was equipped with a small consultation room for special advice. All those interested found information from the following areas: information and employment service, education, travel, leisure, professional advice and citizens and society.
The project Opportunity Map: Youth Information Guide "is co-financed by the European Commission's Erasmus + program.
